Noosa Photographer Alan Hughes’ Wedding Day Tips
I have listed some basic tips here to help you make the most of your wedding day and get the best results from your wedding photographer. Even though I am an experienced wedding photographer, a little help from the bride and groom can make a big difference in the result of the images by following the tips below:
- Nobody likes their wedding day to be remembered as one long photography shoot. So when making a list of the formal or group shots inform the guests involved prior to the day email them the list.
- Brides: When choosing the room where you are going to get ready make sure there is enough room. Try and ensure natural light prevails over fitted lighting. Don’t try to keep the room too neat, some of the best wedding photographs can be got showing the general chaos – or otherwise!
- You know the sequence and timing of your day, but do all your guests? Write down the schedule and email it to your guests or at least have a copy available on the day so everyone knows without having to ask. To get the best from your wedding photographer discuss the amounts of time required for the location shoots before you finalise the schedule. There’s nothing worse than being told we only have 5 minutes to get the photographs done at this location or that and everyone rushing about.
- You know the old saying ‘expect the unexpected’, even if things appear to be going wrong try to stay calm as more often than not these things turn out to be the little idiosyncrasies that make your wedding day even more memorable – plus they can make for great wedding photographs!
- When planning the day try to think about the conditions. If you’re planning photographs on the beautiful Noosa beach, be prepared to go barefoot and get a little sandy or even wet!
- Finally the most important thing to remember is to relax, let go and have fun during your wedding day. Great pictures will happen when everyone is relaxed and having a great time.
